Beauty buys: the good, the bad and the ugly

It wouldn't be a trip home without a new stash of beauty bits to try out! There are so many products continuously being released that my list never seems to go down, so when I get chance to take a few products off my list, to put new ones on, I gotta tell ya, I'm a happy chappy!

First off is the L'Occitane shower oil. Not only does this feel super luxurious on the skin, it leaves a lovely subtle, clean smell behind. I originally bought this because I have been experiencing very dry and itchy skin and thought I could be having a reaction to my shower gel which was highly perfumed. Due to the shower oil being enriched with almond and grape seed oil, it makes it very soothing and relaxing on the skin. It has definitely helped clear up the pesky dry patches I was getting!

Next up is the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer. I had heard so many great things about this product for months, so decided it was time to give it a try, and I gotta tell you, I'm well and truly disappointed! It feels heavy on the skin, looks slightly cakey and dries extremely quickly, making it difficult to work into the skin. If you have any tips and tricks for how to make using this concealer easier, I'd love to hear them!

Oh lordy, the Nuxe RĂªve de Miel Lip Balm is dreamy! It gives my lips a good surge of moisture, which lasts for hours. You don't need to top up for at least half a day, and it dries matt, which means lipsticks glide on top perfectly! It's great for those Mac lipstick lovers out there! Pop it on underneath your lipstick and your lips won't end up all chapped and ugly looking!

I am in love with these Barry M Gelly Nail Polishes. I bought two, one in the shade Sugar Apple and another in  Papaya. They are lovely Spring/Summer colours which are perfect for brightening up your ensembles or for any upcoming holidays you may have planned! I think Papaya will look gorgeous with a tan!

A product I can't decide upon is the Revlon Nearly Naked Foundation. I really don't like that it comes without a pump, pouring the foundation out just ain't ideal for me! The foundation itself is well, okay. It's quite sheer which is nice for Summer months but I dunno, somehow it just isn't wowing me yet! But I'll keep trying with it!

This Body Shop Cleansing Oil is kind of everywhere lately, but for good reason. This is so lovely to take makeup off with, or just to give your face a thorough clean. It leaves skin feeling soft and refreshed. Even though I'd heard cleansing oils don't break people out, I was still slightly unsure what effect it would have on my skin, but it hasn't broken me out (as of yet) and has so far been a fab product to have!

After using the cleansing oil in the evenings, I have been using this Overnight Serum-In-Oil, again by the Body Shop. It's lovely and light and my skin feels so plumped up and soft when I wake up in the mornings.

A couple of times a week I will also use the Vitamin E Silk-In Moisture Mask over the top of the serum to give my skin an extra boost! This was especially lovely to use after a recent flight!

I received a sample of the Garnier Oil Infused Nourishing Lotion in a magazine recently, so gave it a try. I'm not usually a lover of more liquidy moisturisers so I didn't hold out much hope. I applied it as normal and absolutely loved the scent of it! It's so summery and beautiful, I'd happily wear it as a perfume. The following day after applying, I realised how soft the skin on my arms was. I instantly fell in love and had to get my hands on a bottle! I can't rate this highly enough, and it's a bargain too!

Finally, the Max Factor Colour Elixir Lip Liner in the shade Pink Petal. This is a lovely matt nude shade on its own, but looks lovely under a sheer lipgloss and pinky toned nudes and browns. Definitely makes lipsticks last longer! Need to get my hands on a few more colours me thinks!

Have you tried any of these products? What is on your current beauty wish list?
