Top Tips: For Healthy Skin

I am very diligent when it comes to looking after my skin. I've never had particularly bad skin, and that's the way I want it to stay, which is why I have a few holy-grail tips for keeping my skin looking and feeling healthy. Even when I do experience a break-out (everybody get's 'em), I just up my game a little bit more... meaning I am even more thorough than I am usually. Sometimes it's inevitable that you get spots, but of course there are ways to keep spots at bay! Anyway, I thought I'd share a few of my tips and tricks for healthy skin! 

1. It's one that we've heard time and time again - drink lots - for us ladies about 8 glasses of 200ml per day, and for men its about 10 glasses of 200ml! It sounds a lot, but when I really notice a huge difference in my skin when I've been drinking lots. Some say if you have a spotty forehead, that is down to dehydration. 

2. When I'm going through a crappy skin phase, I try to change my pillowcase every night. This is especially the case when I'm feeling super stressed! If you don't have enough pillow cases, try putting a fresh towel on your pillow case instead. Changing my pillow case regularly works wonders for me!

3. Cleanse and moisturise regularly. And make sure you a using products that are suitable for your skin. If you have oily skin, don't be using a really hydrating moisturiser! If my skin isn't looking so good, I'll double cleanse both morning and night, to give it a really thorough clean. 

4. Exfoliate regularly. After exfoliating my skin, I see a difference in an instant. I use the Clinique 7-Day Scrub. I find it just the right harshness, but it's definitely not one you want to use too often, as I think that would be too abrasive on the skin. But that is something you should adjust to your skin type. 

5. I'm somebody who gets stressed extremely easily, which of course is no good for my health, or my skin. Which is why I have to think of ways to de-stress, and manage stressful situations. Taking myself out of the situation is one which works for me, whether thats for 10 minutes whilst I have a cup of tea to think it over, or if it's something that isn't worth the time, I'll leave it altogether. Of course, it depends on the importance on whatever it is that is stressing me out, but it's also important to remember, I shouldn't allow these situations to jeopardise my health nor my skin!

  4. Lovely post with some great tips! I always try to drink 8 glasses but I end up forgetting most of the time!

    My tip is to cleanse before you do a face mask to remove any dead skin so the product can work properly.
