Styling the Pencil Skirt

As you know, I recently started an internship, so thinking of different ensembles everyday gets a little tricky. I work at a high-end luxury fashion company, so I of course have to look professional as well as fashionable... Does anyone else get those serious dose of CBA days?! I get them, and when on a budget, thinking of new outfits to wear isn't easy.

I picked up this gorgeous navy wool pencil skirt in Zara and love the asymmetry and the strip of faux leather. It's also pretty simple, so relatively easy to style, and goes with a lot of things... Making my mornings a lot easier when thinking of what to wear!

I love a cosy knit and a pencil skirt, I think it looks really sophisticated (a little Cameron Diaz in The Holiday - my fave) yet slightly casual at the same time. This cream jumper is from Reiss.

I picked up this unusual striped knit/shirt in the Cos sale. I think this is super cute and gives the pencil skirt more of a fun vibe!

I'm not one for cropped tops - in fact this is the only cropped piece I have in my wardrobe, but I love it. I personally wouldn't wear it unless I was wearing something high waisted, but I think this Topshop cropped jumper is really cute and creates a lovely relaxed look teamed with the skirt.

You will have seen this striped Reiss Tee - similar here in a recent Working Week post, but here it is again, and I think the look I've created with it is very different. Less school girl, more professional. I also love the whole navy look, simple yet chic.

Lastly is probably the most obvious of the bunch, teaming the pencil skirt with a simple white blouse. These are for the days when you have no inspiration and just want to throw something on and look presentable. Again, this blouse if from Reiss - similar here (I'm not obsessed with that store - I promise...)

What are your favourite pieces to pair with the pencil skirt?
